Hello everyone - I am writing to you from Grøndalsvængets school here in Copenhagen hoping some of you might follow me in telling a bit about, whats going on in your schools these days, I would like to share the following with you:
Last year it was decided that one of the schools close to us was to close down completely. The reasons for this were not quite clear to us , but it seemed to be a question of saving money somehow.
Anyway we started receiving students from the school which was closing down, and at that time we began to worry about how things would develop.
Over a period of six months, we got more than 100 new kids in our school. The idea had been to move an entire class with teachers and all, but the whishes among parents ended up spreading the students in different schools, and we got children of all ages from the 0.class till the 9.class.
It took quite an effort among teachers and management to fit them in, and also the "old" children had to adapt to the new culture, which was brought into their "old"class. The economical aspect was a considerable problem because we got new students, but no money until the beginning of the next year.
Luckily we got 4 new collegeas and a from the school closing down, and we are extremely happy getting so well-trained, sympathetic and experienced new members of our teachers group. As a matter of fact one of them is Dhurata whom you all know.
When the school closed there were lots of books, computers, teaching materials, cupboards, tables and chairs and all sorts of other great stuff, which we took over - it was like Christmas unpacking the boxes !
After all we have found a way back to everyday life again - we have a higher number of pupils in the classes than before and that means new conditions for teaching, for the discipline and for the teachers cooperating with parents. All in all a new challenge !!

This is a Great idea and you always have great ideas.
I'll be happy to send u some photos of performance of polish theatre group.
It's starting another european week after the week of comenius meeting. I know, there will be a lot of work but we are very happy to host again (this is the second time) our friends polish theatre group. This is a continuation of old Comenius project. They rappresented "Pinocchio" two years ago, in italian language,(the pupils don't know and don't speak italian) in my school and in other schools of Barrafranca and province.
Now the Great polish teacher "HALINA" (I call the Boss)has prepared another show more difficult than the first.
It is a tragedy "Antigone" by Sofocle. They'ld have to perform in my school, in the Liceum of Barrafranca, in the greek theatre of Morgantina and dulcis in fundo in the theatre of TAORMINA.
There will be another Great experience for all my school and for polish theatre group too.
