Sorry for not translating to Turkish - but Google translater can't - yet !!
The story is as follows: ( Thanks to Google translater!)
There are several legends about Lucia, and one of them says that Lucia was a beautiful and rich, young nobility lady who lived in Sicily around the year 300 Her mother was hit by a serious and incurable disease, but then heard Lucia a day that happened miracles in the Holy Agate grave, and she said to be her mother: "If you go in there, you will be healthy."
The mother came with and when they came to the tomb, the knee down and prayed. But then there was that Lucia fell asleep at the grave, and then she dreams of the holy Agate and heard her say: "Sister Lucia, why you are asking me about something that you can do? With your faith you have already made your mother healthy. "
As Lucia woke up, she said: "Mom, you're healthy, and I ask you that you will give all the wealth that I succeed to the poor."
The mother thought it might wait until she was dead, but when Lucia reiterated its plea, she promised it. And from now on, every day they gave large sums of money to the poor.
It was not long before Lucia husband discovered this. By asking Lucia addition, he was now all know about miracles and faith Lucia. He was very angry and got dragged her to the Roman court. We tried to get her to sacrifice to the ancient Roman gods, but it would not Lucia. She had sacrificed everything she owned, to God. Now she had only itself to victims, and she would never do anything other than what God wanted of her.
They would now trailing her to the senior judge. But no one could move her. So they tied her hands and feet and sent for after 1000 man, but they could not move her either. Even 1000 pairs of cattle tried with no result.
"What can it be a magic force that prevents man in 1000 to lead a girl away," outbreak of the judge.
"It is not a magic force," said Lucia, "it is Christ's power."
Then the judge came across his sword in Lucia, and she died. Lucuas death, 13 December is also her holy day. Lucia was buried in Syracuse in 304 years, but in 1038 was her remains led to Constantinople to again be stolen and they are now in San Gerenia church in Venice.
In early 1900 the figure was the famous Swedish songwriter Gunnar Wenner Berg (he wrote Gluntarne) in Italy, where he heard a wonderful song, which is about a beautiful fishing port of Naples. In 1920, he put his new text and Lucia song as we know it was sung for the first time in Sweden.
The modern Lucia heritage began in 1927 in Stockholm but now was Lucia was a girl.
In Denmark as the first Lucia brides in the early 1950s. Lucia tradition is like many other traditions, a mixture of completely different pagan traditions as well as from the Catholic and Protestant religion.

Christmas in Denmark
Hello everyone - just like in many other schools in Denmark we celebrate Christmas in school with a theatrical performence. Every year in our school it is the 6. class who are responsible for the play, and most of the years they write the manuscript themselves. After Christmas the film should be available on our homepage www.gvs.kk.dk.
In the pictures (slideshow on blog) you see the gnomes ( In Denmark we call them 'nisser' ) who have come to our school and it occurs that classes returning from brake find a bag of candy or cakes in their class room left there by the gnomes.
In all the classes they light the calender candles every morning, burning a number every day counting down to the 24. On the 12. (actually it is the 13. of Decemberbut school is closed that day ) we have taken over the Swedish tradition of celebrating Santa Lucia - and the girls from the 2. + 3. +4. clas walk in procession singing about Lucia.
It is a busy period but we think very much of you all and we look forward to meet in Finland.
Love Filiz, Dhurata, Elsebet and Ole.

Last week in our class Oulu (4a)
It was still dark when we came to school. After school it was dim in spite of the fact that it was about at 2 pm. At this time there is day light only a short moment at mid day. But the light is not bright but greyish blue! Luckily we`ve got the snow and it gives the light. You can imagine how we enjoy the breaks at school because of the games and plays with snow. But it wasn`t so funny to notice that “someone” had made our mittens, shoes and woolly hats totally wet during the lessons in the corridor!
We had a test about natural science on Thursday. On the same day we also could practice how to contribute on the affairs at school. We were asked to think of the means and ideas to make our school, our immediate neighborhood, Finland , Europe or even the whole world a better place for everyone. Each pupil worked alone first and made four suggestions. After that we made pairs and chose again only four ideas. The next step was to work in groups of four, then in groups of eight pupils and finally we chose four (4) topics by voting with the whole class. Our class found the most important affair and aim to make better: all the wars in the world must be finished. We were also worried about the animals, climate changes (the global warming) and our “own” lake, Kuivasjärvi, which is near by the school. This lake should get cleaner.
Our class representative delivers these suggestions to the pupil association in our school. Later, next February, all the suggestions from our school will be delivered and discussed in a big “city meeting” with communal officials and town councilors. We can hopefully influence on big decisions! Anyway we have been able to tell our wishes! All this belongs to the project which encourages children and teen-agers to contribute and implicate on affairs which concern just them. All this gave us a good possibility to get wonderful topics also to our Comenius-project: The world we would like to have!
We also had a Christmas party in our class on Thursday. We decorated the ginger bread, made Christmas cards and Christmas balls. And of course we ate many kinds of goodies.
On Friday morning assembly we started the Advent time by singing “Hoosianna” (Hosanna) with all the pupils and teachers. You can listen to the melody and look at one www-Advent calendar by searching
http://joulukalenteri.positiivarit.fi
We started to make our own Advent calendar already on Tuesday in our class. There are 19 pupils and we wanted to start making an interesting serial story. Each pupil writes his or her own part during one day. So when it`s time to start the Christmas holiday our story will be ready and at the same time our calendar is ready!
Greetings!
